Ward Photo Directory

Privacy Policy

The short version: the maker of Ward Photo Directory does not collect any information about you or the members of your ward. Everything the extension does happens in your own browser.

Last updated: October 7, 2026

We don't collect your information

As the maker of the Ward Photo Directory Chrome extension, we do not collect, store, receive or have access to any information about you or the people in your directory. The extension has no server of its own, no analytics and no tracking. It never sends member information, your browsing activity or anything else to us.

How the extension handles data

  • You only see what you can already see. The extension uses your own signed-in session on the Church's sites. It never asks for, sees or stores your password.
  • Data stays in your browser. Member information is read from the Church's own sites and shown in your tab. Nothing is sent anywhere else, except the Google Form responses you set up yourself (see below).
  • Minimal permissions. The extension can only act on the tab where you click its icon, and only at that moment. It has no access to your other tabs or your browsing.
  • Nothing is changed on Church sites. The grid only changes what your own browser shows. Closing it restores the original page.

What is saved on your computer

  • Messages you write, and any Google Form links you add to them, are saved in your browser's local storage on that computer so they're there next time. They never leave your computer. You can delete them in the Messages tab or by clearing your browser's site data.
  • The member list for the current grid is kept in your browser's session storage while the tab is open, so features like Download CSV and Copy Message work. Your Filter Cards choices and Flash Cards progress are kept there too. All of it is cleared when you close the tab.
  • Files you export, such as a downloaded CSV or photo .zip, are saved only where you choose on your own computer.

Google Forms you set up yourself

The extension lets you add a link to a Google Form to a message. When you click Log Message or Copy and Log, your browser sends that message and the member details you chose to include straight to your Google Form. That is the only way the extension moves data outside your browser, and it only happens when you set up a form and click one of those buttons.

That information goes to the form's owner, which is you or whoever gave you the form, and not to the maker of the extension. We never receive, see or have access to it. Responses are stored by Google under the form owner's account and are governed by Google's privacy policy. Please share member information only in ways your Church leaders and local laws allow.

Our commitments

Because the extension doesn't collect user data, there is nothing for us to sell or share. We also commit that user data is:

  • Not being sold to third parties, outside of the approved use cases
  • Not being used or transferred for purposes that are unrelated to the item's core functionality
  • Not being used or transferred to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes

This website

The feedback form on this website is separate from the extension. If you choose to send feedback, what you type, including a name or contact details if you give them, comes to us so we can read it and reply. Every field is optional. This site is hosted on Blogger, which is run by Google and follows Google's privacy policy.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. If you have a question about privacy, send it through the feedback form.
